A Day In The Life – March 2002

You can get the gist of the life of an actress from the articles I wrote in the previous few months, so this month I thought I would just mention some cool things that happened since I last wrote:

I had a lovely conversation with the winner of our Trivia Contest, Kim Dwight Newton. Kim is from Arkansas and we talked a lot about farming life. He has also been a paraplegic for many years, after an accident, so we discussed how he copes with that. He is an admirable person with a wonderful attitude towards life and I am so happy that I had the opportunity to speak with him. Our second place winner, Ingo, shares a lot on this site on the message board, and I was honoured to be able to send him a couple signed photos.

I saw Richard Simmons in the airport a couple weeks ago and I went up to him and told him how cool I thought he was. I love him, because he is so nice to everyone, and he makes people feel good about themselves. He has also helped a lot of overweight people get healthier. And when I spoke to him, he  kissed my hand fervently and was as nice as he is on television. I think being kind is so important and Richard Simmons is incredibly kind to everyone, but especially to folks who tend to be overlooked in our society. I called Ian right away to tell him whom I had met, I was so excited.

I hosted this video on hydrogen cars in Sacramento, and it was sooooo neat to be able to drive a car whose by-product is WATER (I even tasted what came out of the tailpipe, and, sure enough, it was good ol’ H2O). No Pollution! Eight car companies are working on hydrogen powered cars – Ford, Honda, Nissan, Daimler-Chrysler, Toyota, Volkswagon among them- and some cars will be out next year! Those cars will only be available for fleets at first, but , hey! I am a fleet! (You can be sure I took a lot of business cards that day, because my EV1 lease is up next year and I would love to drive one of the hydrogen fuelcell cars)

JaJa is now totally at home here, and we love her very much. She makes Ian and I laugh because she has the loudest purr! Happy Spring to you all. Thank you for being a part of www.alexandrapaul.com
